With AIX 32 bit binaries, there is a limit of 11 shared memory segments. By default the new 4.1.0 agent uses more than this, which causes the web container to either crash or fail to start. To test, simply try using a 32 bit 4.1.0 AIX agent and observe that it fails to startup correctly.
The fixed version (implemented as the first part of changes for
AMAGENTS-273 - which is targeted for 4.1.2) combines and reduces the number of segments required for AIX to below this threshold, allowing the agent to run.
