      Description

I want to eval OpenAM and therefore decided to start with the QucikInstall default config, as described on https://forgerock.org/2017/01/openam-5-minutes/. Unfortunately it is malfunctioning after step 5, i.e. "Proceed to Login". After this or any try to load http://$domain:8080/openam/ results in a page, which just displays 'Loading ...' in the upper left corner and the footer at the bottom of the browser window. For a short time, one is able to see a "spinning wheel" aka "is loading anim. image", but this vanishes after a very short time and the center stays blank, doesn't show a login dialog.

      I've set JAVA_OPTS+=' -Dcom.iplanet.services.debug.level=message -Dcom.iplanet.services.debug.directory=/data/tmp/ -Dcom.sun.services.debug.mergeall=on' and extracted from the *huge* debug.out:

      Tomcat itself show no errors (e.g. in catalina.out or error.log), the only unusual access log entry I've found is 123.45.67.89 [15/Feb/2017:21:27:01 +0100] 5 84 - 500 "POST /openam/json/authenticate? HTTP/1.1" "http://my.do.main:8080/openam/XUI/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; SunOS i86pc; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0", i.e. answers the request with an HTTP status 500 (server error).

I've checkt it with the browser: Status code 500 and and empty body (both firefox ESR 45.0.x on Solaris as well as latest google chrom on macOSX).

So I guess the bug is not on the client side.
