      Description

Tools like App Dynamics, New Relic, etc are able to monitor "standard" monitoring interfaces like JMX, SNMP, etc but their value is adding the ability to monitoring a complete "system" from an end-to-end transactional basis; i.e. capturing java calls outbound (exit points) from one application with inbound (entry points) in another and tying it all together.

They do this by deploying a java agent in the JVM of a given application. In order for these tools to work they need to know the exact class and methods used for each flow.

This is currently very difficult to decipher from the documentation and those who are not experts in the code.

The request is to add annotations or documentation references top enable integration with these tools. Note core code modification to enable may also be required (e.g. changing classes from private to public).
