The new DS Policy and Application stores only support a single target address per realm. This presents a single point of failure (SPOF), i.e. each realm can only connect to a single DS node; failure results in a complete outage. While load balancers could be used to overcome, most customers are retiring them in favour of application level connection strings. Furthermore all other AM -> DS connections support multiple targets via connection strings.
The request is to implement connection string functionality (optionally with affinity) for these new Policy and Application stores to align with the capabilities of other parts of the product and remove this critical SPOF.
