      Description

Starting with DS 7, all backups can be viewed as incremental, and the cost of running backups very frequently is much lower than in the past.

As an administrator, I could be very interested in running backups very frequently to reduce the possibility or the impact of data loss, but in order to minimize the amount of disk space consumed, I would like to reduce the number of older backups kept per period of time.

For example, I would like backups to be taken every 15 minutes, and I need to be able to restore backups for 7 days. But for any backup that is older than 6 hours, I'm only interested in preserving 1 backup per hour. And for any backup that are older than 2 days, I only want to keep one per day.

It would be nice to have a tool that is able to remove backups according to a specified policy, such as for backups that are more than 6 hours old, only keep hourly backups.
