The release notes for upgrading to IDM 6.5, state to run a script for metadata migration, that creates x2 new tables -
This creates two new tables, metaobjects and metaobjectproperties, then moves user meta data from genericobjects into these two tables.
However the 6.5 Integrators Guide still refers to the deprecated use of the genericobjects tables for metadata -
