Description |
When using a load balancer with directory services, it is quite possible to arrive at the wrong configuration if you start from the wrong assumptions about LDAP and eventual consistency. It would be helpful to readers to have recommendations in the documentation, not for any specific load balancer, but for common load balancer features. It would also be useful to clarify why it can in some cases be better to use proxy functionality or a proxy layer rather than a load balancer. An LDAP proxy, or LDAP application using proxy features in the SDK such as AM, can do directory-specific load balancing such as "affinity" load balancing. |
